Appointment System Readme
The appointment system intends to create an entrance door that will allow honest users to pass with minimal effort while making it very difficult for scammers to create a large number of fraudulent accounts on the system. These fraudulent abusers (also informally called “brushers” or the “brush” since they can sweep a system “clean”) will usually try to enter the system using cell phone farms or other means of abuse and dis-balance the system in their favor, rendering the environment unusable for honest users.
The appointment system works by creating an appointment at a fixed date and time where everyone must be present at the same time. The entrance door is only open during this brief window of time. By making entry difficult by time, brushers are unable to create a significant number of accounts and remain largely hindered in their abuse efforts. On the other hand, for honest users, the process is very simple, this is equivalent to playing a simple video game or completing simple puzzles for about a minute and then being accepted into the system once it is fully verified. The appointment system is also entirely anonymous and decentralized. The process comprises three stages:
Send Appointment request: Start by creating an account and requesting an appointment. For this, you simply have to enter the publication window and start the process. It will be necessary to select a time region that will determine at what times and dates the appointment will take place and send the appointment request.
Receive Appointment confirmation: Once the request has been submitted, it may take a few minutes to a few hours to receive confirmation. Once the response is received, the date and time of the appointment will be set. There is nothing to do at this point other than wait and be present for the appointment date and time.
Attend the Appointment: Make sure you are on time! On the date and time of the appointment, make sure you are present on time and the wizards will guide you through the process. Complete the puzzles as they are displayed and then wait for confirmation. It may take a few minutes or hours for confirmation to receive a response.
Once the process is complete, you can create your account and proceed with regular operations. The verification will be valid for 1 month after which a new appointment must be set and performed again to be able to continue for another month.
Please note that if the appointment time window was missed, a new appointment request must be created at a later date and retry. We recommend being present 10 minutes before the date and time of the appointment.
Important considerations before starting
The Neuralium supports 2 account types:
User Accounts: This account type is for everyone and should be the default if you don't know what to choose. This account can mine at the 3rd and 4th tiers when available in the future.
Server Accounts: This type of account is intended for servers that will mine on the 1st and 2nd tiers, although they can also mine on the other levels if necessary. Server accounts must operate as servers and have a stable IP address, as well as specific ports open.
The servers need to open two ports for mining at the 1st tier. Port 80, 32888 and 33888 should be open and connectable .
About the Ports
As we have mentioned, to operate the server accounts, ports 80, 32888, 33888 must be open. It is important to mention that ISPs or private networks must perform Port forwarding to allow these ports to be connectable. Port forwarding or port mapping allows remote computers to connect to a specific computer or service on a private network and it allows you to operate as a server within such a network.
In a typical network, the router has the public IP address and computers/servers obtain a private IP address from the router that is not addressable from outside the network. When you forward a specific port on your router, you are telling your router where to direct traffic for that port. Most residential ISP's block ports to combat viruses and spam. You may need to contact your ISP or network administrator to configure Port forwarding for ports 80, 32888 and 33888.
